Three years ago, when I was an intern at Bright Power, I was desperate for a full-time job. As a side project, I tried supporting a marketing campaign by creating a list of buildings with the worst Local Law 97 fines. It didn’t go well, but I learned a lot about NYC Open Data and energy regulations along the way.

 

Now, I’m teaching myself web development in my spare time. I believe the best way to learn is by doing, so I decided to build something useful.

 

Searching for Local Law 97 fine estimate, compliance pathways, energy usage, compliance, and violations separately can be overwhelming. That’s why I built a web app to put everything in one place:

✔️ Energy-related DOB violations

 

It pulls data from NYC Open Data and the DOB website and displays pretty charts and tables. It will save your time and headaches.
